Because if it wasn’t we wouldn’t be alive.

Humans have been so successful because their brains have evolved in such an astonishing way. Our problem-solving skills allow us to out-compete almost everything else on the planet.

The brain is awesome! You would think that because humans are the most intelligent animals, we would have the biggest brains. But in fact our brains only weigh about 1.5kg whereas a sperm whale’s brain weighs about 8kg. But I guess that makes sense cause whales are wayyyyy bigger than humans. However, even when you take the size of an animal into account, the animal with the biggest brain for it’s body size is the shrew! So even though humans don’t have the biggest brains we are still the most advanced animals. Which mean our brains have evolved pretty well!

The reason I think the brain is a brilliant adaption is because your brain does really important stuff without you even needing to tell it, for example breathing when your sleeping and storing memories. Which is a pretty cool adaption because it means whilst your brain is doing all that for you without you asking it, you can think about what you want for tea or stuff you want to talk to your mates about or who you want to win the World Cup! Clever brain!
