      Interesting question!

The forth state of matter is often though to be ‘plasma’ after solids, liquids and gas. It actually has an overall neutral charge as it has equal positive and negative particles and the electron and ions are all free.

Plasmas aren’t found naturally very often but there are a few on Earth, one being the Northern Lights (which if I’m lucky we can sometimes see in Aberdeen where I live!). You can also find plasma inside fluorescent light bulbs.

The other place that you can find plasma is in stars! So if you ever want to see the forth state of matter all you need to do is look up at the night sky!
