Good question, and one that is almost impossible to answer. But I’ll explain why!
Throughout scientific history we know a lot about the successful and exciting experiments that scientists have managed to get to work. In a sense it’s obvious why, because these successful experiments will be the ones the researchers and the public are most interested in. However, who is going to advertise the fact that something they’ve done hasn’t worked? So those things won’t be well-documented and we won’t know about them so we can’t really answer your question.
