Science means so much to me. I know it’s cheesy but it means I get to go into work everyday and do something that I love. I’m never going to win a Noble prize but I feel like what I do matters and makes a difference to people.

I also know what a difference the work the other scientists do makes to my life, in terms of healthcare, technology etc

Science means a lot to me. It has always been interesting and challenged me and really pushed me to think in different ways. You only live once and for me it is important to have a job which stretches your mind. Sometimes it maybe stretches my mind too much but it’s worth it! It is also really important to me to have a job that can help people, which I think science does. One of my favourite things about science is you meet so many people from different countries and experience different cultures. I think this has made me a more open-minded person.

I love science. But science will go on without me, it is not something that you can sacrifice, like a favourite toy or game. If I stop working on science then it probably means that there is something more important or suitable competing for my attention.
